Foil Stamping For over a hundred years stamps of foil, pressed onto paper, have distinguished luxury items, enhanced book covers and leant prestige to professional stationery. In foil stamping, pigment or metallic foil, usually gold or silver, is applied to paper, using a heated die. The foil adheres to the surface, capturing the design of the die on the paper in fine detail and perfect accuracy. Various patterns or pastel foil can also be used. Foil stamping as a method of specialty printing produces a very nice luxe look that speaks of quality and craftsmanship.
