Our Chiyogami, Katazumi and Sukashi washi specialty papers bring strength, history and ageless beauty to any project. The rich designs of kimono and traditional Japanese imagery dating from the Edo period (1603-1868) are expressed in our hand printed, curated collections of Chiyogami and Katazome papers. The designs and colors of translucent Sukashi papers can be subtle or dramatic, depending upon the backing they are placed against. Made of natural fibers including kozo (mulberry), mitsumata and gampi, each sheet of washi paper is warm, flexible, strong and very durable, yet surprisingly lightweight.
