This substrate comes from the Lokta plant, which grows wild in the Himalayas at altitudes of 6,500 to 9,500 feet. It is a renewable and tree free resource. The plant completely regenerates from the same root system after being harvested. The raw paper is made in mountainous villages without the use of electricity or petroleum. The paper is 100 acid free and environmentally sound.
